A team comprising 150 students and three staff from the Presbyterian Senior High School, Bompata, have completed an educational tour of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi on July 13, 2023. The students are final year General Arts students offering Geography and Economics option with a mix of elective Mathematics and History.
The team was received by the International Programmes Office on behalf of KNUST as part of the public engagement of the University. There units of the university the team visited were the Departments of Architecture and Planning. The team also toured the Department of Geography and Rural Development.
At the Departments of Architecture and Planning, the team was received by Prof. Rexford Asaase Oppong, Head, and Prof. Mrs. Dina Adei respectively. The Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah explained the rationale for the visit of the team which was to learn more about the university, the specific programmes offered, admission requirements, career prospects, engaging with some students among others.
The team was well received by the respective Departments who shared an overview of their programmes and answered all their questions. They had the opportunity to visit some of the facilities and classrooms and see the third year Architecture students explain their current peri urban survey project focused on Effiduase to them.
The team expressed their speciation to the Departments, International Programmes Office and the University for the opportunity to complete the Educational visit.
