Student Engagement

The International Programmes Office, through its welfare initiatives, organizes events for exchange students to engage them actively throughout their stay on campus. The events organized by the IPO are;

Oseikrom Bronya

The International Programmes Office, in partnership with the Directorate of Students Affairs, hosts Oseikrom Bronya, a vibrant Christmas celebration. This event creates a festive atmosphere where both international and selected local students, along with staff, can mingle through games, cuisine, and music. It's specially designed for international students remaining on campus during the holidays, offering them a unique experience of Christmas in Kumasi's traditional style, known as Oseikrom Bronya.

Akwaaba Night

Hosted under the auspices of the Vice Chancellor, the International Programmes Office together with the Directorate of Students Affairs organize Akwaaba Night, a welcome dinner event for all new international students, both regular and exchange. This gathering is aimed at extending traditional Ghanaian hospitality and also serves as a platform for the university's management to learn about the challenges and prospects these international engagements bring.

KNUST Food Festival

International exchange students take part in the KNUST food festival, an event put together by the Department of Food Science and Technology, where they have the opportunity to cook dishes from their home countries and showcase their culinary skills.
