UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN RESEARCHER EXPLORES COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES AT KNUST

A doctoral researcher from the University of Michigan, Mr. Kwame Yane Tsipo, has paid a courtesy call on the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Professor Edmund Ekuadzi, as part of his research visit to KNUST.

Accompanied by Professor Moses Omoyin of the Department of Physiotherapy and Sports Science, Mr. Tsipo discussed potential collaboration in fall-risk screening and movement analysis. He explained that his research in biomechanics seeks to improve the understanding of human movement and support healthcare professionals in preventing falls through data-driven approaches.

Mr. Tsipo also shared details of visits to the School of Allied Health Sciences, Ejisu Government Hospital, and KNUST Hospital to explore research opportunities.

Professor Omoyin highlighted KNUST’s expertise in data analysis and sensor technologies and expressed optimism about future collaboration with the University of Michigan.

Professor Ekuadzi welcomed the initiative, describing it as a valuable contribution to KNUST’s internationalization agenda. He encouraged structured engagement with students and researchers to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen research partnerships.

The meeting ended with both parties expressing commitment to future collaboration in biomechanics and rehabilitation research.
