On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, a delegation from the Underground Contemporary Art Space, Uganda, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The delegation was led by Miss Nantume Violet, Director of the Space, and included Miss Babirye Erinah, Miss Kanaiza Onalo, Miss Mania Nakato, and Miss Patience Goodgrace.
Underground Contemporary Art Space has maintained a collaborative relationship with KNUST for some years. As part of this partnership, which includes a mobility component, members of the Space have been working within KNUST’s Faculty of Art, engaging in artistic development and exchange.
Miss Violet explained that the purpose of the visit was to officially introduce two new members who recently joined the KNUST community under the ongoing agreement - Miss Babirye Erinah and Miss Kanaiza Onalo.
Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his delight in seeing such diverse talents contribute to the university's creative and academic environment. He emphasized the importance of cross-cultural collaboration and noted KNUST’s increasing emphasis on South–South partnerships to foster deeper intra-African academic and artistic exchanges. He assured the guests of the IPO’s continuous support and wished them a pleasant and impactful stay at KNUST.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer, and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer, both of the International Programmes Office.
