Dr. Mohamed Elmaghrbi, an Associate Professor and Director of Student Recruitment at the University of Nottingham Faculty of Engineering has called on the Provost, College of Engineering, Prof. Kwabena Britwum Nyarko on March 9, 2023. On Dr. Elmaghrbi’s team were Lindsay Smith, Education & Student Experience initiatives Officer (School Engagement) for Engineering; and Emma Tarrant Tayou, Director, Graduate Guidance Group (authorized representative of the University of Nottingham in Ghana).Â
Dr. Elmaghrbi took the opportunity to congratulate Prof. Nyarko on his new role as Provost and looked forward to working with him. Discussions were focused on enhancing students and staff exchange, increasing Graduate International student enrollment, co teaching, joint research projects, post graduate certificate in higher education and joint supervision of doctoral theses.Â
Prof. Nyarko was grateful for the visit and looked forward to engaging more with the University of Nottingham to enhance teaching, research and learning at KNUST engineering. For instance, having virtual lectures from UofN staff for KNUST students in Power Electronics would be highly beneficial.Â
The Dean of a International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Duah emphasized the deep partnership between KNUST and UofN culminating in a number of visits by Faculty of Engineering to KNUST and leadership of KNUST to Nottingham culminating in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement that expanded the relationships to cover the Colleges of Engineering, Science and Art and Built Environment.
