On Friday, January 17, 2025, leaders of Interior Designers and Decorators Ghana (IDDG) visited the International Programmes Office (IPO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to discuss potential collaborations. The IDDG delegation included Miss Audrey Forson (President), Miss Eyetsa Lorrain Ocloo (Immediate Past President), and Mr. Hymore Jeremy-Lynn John (Administrator).

They were welcomed by Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the IPO, and two members of staff from the Department of Architecture at KNUST; Dr. Ing. Alexander Boakye Marful and Arc. Benedict Owusu Brown. The meeting focused on exploring a partnership between IDDG and KNUST’s Department of Architecture and other units of the University.

Miss Ocloo shared insights into the organization’s impressive growth, noting that despite being just six years old, IDDG had experienced significant growth in the past two years, resulting in about 100 professional members and 250 student members. Ms. Forson shared an overview of the structure and activities of the IDDG and highlighted their desire to partner with KNUST including participating in an upcoming international workshop in their domain for students.

Following plans to establish a programme in Interior Architecture by the Department of Architecture, Dr. Alex Marful and Arc. Brown welcomed the idea to partner emphasising the need to uphold international standards.

Professor Daniel Duah expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and assured the IDDG team of IPO’s commitment to guiding them through the formal processes required to establish the collaboration. He proposed that the partnership could extend beyond the Department of Architecture to encompass other units within the University. He also emphasized the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to regulate the partnership.

The discussions were also attended by Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer.
