On Thursday, February 13, 2026, the International Programmes Office at KNUST welcomed Dr. Kate Adams and Mr. Tony Moore on a courtesy visit to the Dean, Prof. Edmund Ekuadzi. Dr. Adams, a London-based medical doctor and supporter of the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, visited KNUST following her growing interest in Tropical Modernism.

Accompanied by Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, Head of the Department of Architecture, the team reflected on the 2024 V&A exhibition on Tropical Modernism, which featured selected works from KNUST. The exhibition sparked their curiosity and ultimately inspired their visit to Ghana.

Dr. Adams described the KNUST exhibits as deeply inspiring, noting that they provided valuable insight into Tropical Modernism and Ghanaian architectural history. She also highlighted the V&A Museum’s interest in supporting KNUST in archiving its architectural heritage. Excited about the growing global attention, she referenced an upcoming exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which is expected to further spotlight such works and attract wider diaspora engagement.

Prof. Ekuadzi welcomed the visit and emphasised KNUST’s unique position as a “living laboratory” for Tropical Modernism. He noted that the University is home to approximately 60 heritage sites and that the Office regularly organises themed tours for visitors, offering rich and immersive experiences.

The visit ended on a high note, with a shared appreciation of KNUST’s architectural legacy and its global relevance.

Also present were Teaching Assistants from the Department of Architecture, along with Ms. Ernestine Oheneba Danso (Collaborations and Partnerships Officer) and Ms. Patricia Frimpong Manso (Visibility and Communications Officer) from the International Programmes Office.
