Ms. Morwenna Joubin of Technical University of Munich, Germany Calls on Dean of International Programmes Office, KNUST

On Friday, March 14, 2025, Ms. Morwenna Joubin, a Programme Manager at the Institute for Advanced Study, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, paid a courtesy call on Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Ms. Joubin’s visit to KNUST was facilitated through the Maximilian Graf Montgelas Programme, a TUM initiative designed to empower administrative staff by enhancing their international expertise through exchanges with leading global institutions. The programme offers participants the opportunity to benefit from TUM’s extensive global network, gain firsthand insights into diverse administrative practices, and foster meaningful collaborations with international colleagues.

During the meeting, Ms. Joubin expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and outlined her expectations for the visit. She highlighted her interest in visiting the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) and the Office of Grants and Research (OGR) to understand their scope of activities and how research is promoted at KNUST.

Additionally, she expressed a desire to visit the University Relations Office to gain insights into the University’s internal and external communication strategies and learn about its sustainability initiatives.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed Ms. Joubin and emphasized the importance of international partnerships to KNUST, citing the longstanding collaboration with TUM as a prime example. He expressed optimism that her visit would open doors to further opportunities for both institutions.

Professor Duah also recommended that Ms. Joubin visit the KNUST E-Learning Centre to learn about the University’s innovative e-learning initiatives. Furthermore, he extended an invitation to her to attend Akwaaba Night 2025, a welcome dinner for first-year international and exchange students, and encouraged her to explore the rich cultural heritage of Kumasi.

The meeting was attended by Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Ms. Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communication Officer, all from the IPO.
