On Monday, May 5, 2025, Professor Emmanuel Yiridoe - an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture at Dalhousie University, Canada - paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO).

Professor Yiridoe was introduced to the IPO by Dr. Camillus Abawiera Wongnaa, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, and was accompanied by Professor Dadson Awunyo-Vitor, Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), and Professor Fred Nimoh, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, all from KNUST.

The visit formed part of Professor Yiridoe’s ongoing two-week hands-on research training programme, organized by CANR and funded in part by a Carnegie Fellowship. During his meeting with the Dean, discussions focused on exploring potential avenues for academic collaboration and initiating steps toward the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KNUST and Dalhousie University.

Professor Duah warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the significance of international partnerships in providing KNUST students with a world-class education. He noted that Professor Yiridoe’s research focus - particularly in Renewable Energy Systems - aligns strongly with KNUST’s research priorities. He further assured the delegation of the IPO’s commitment to facilitating the successful execution of the MoU, pending approval by the implementing unit.

Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer, all from the IPO; as well as Miss Barkisu Mohammed, Communications Officer at CANR.
