The Senior Industry Value Advisor for Africa at SAP in collaboration with TGTS Africa, the International Programmes Office (IPO) and the E-Learning Centre facilitated an orientation session for KNUST students and staff

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the International Programmes Office (IPO) of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in collaboration with the KNUST E-Learning Centre, TGTS Africa, and Mr. Oloruntoye Aderinola, Senior Industry Value Advisor for the Africa Region at System Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP), organised a practical orientation session for KNUST students and staff at the IDL Computer Laboratory.

SAP is a German multinational software company renowned for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. Founded in 1972, SAP is the world’s leading provider of ERP software, supporting businesses to manage key operations such as finance, human resources, logistics, and supply chain processes. SAP’s solutions enable organisations to optimise operations, improve efficiency, and leverage data-driven insights for better decision-making. Notably, in early 2025, SAP was ranked the most valuable publicly traded company in Europe.

Team

During the session, Mr. Aderinola highlighted the global relevance of SAP, noting its widespread use across industries, including government institutions and major corporations such as Amazon, Ford, BMW, Coca-Cola, and Apple. He emphasised that acquiring SAP-related skills significantly enhances students' employability and prepares them for opportunities in the global job market.

As part of SAP’s ongoing commitment to developing talent in Africa, Mr. Aderinola announced that SAP will provide free training to 250,000 students across the continent. This initiative includes access to over 100 certification courses and two free examination attempts, giving students the opportunity to earn globally recognised SAP certifications.

The session served as an eye-opener for participants, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
