A senior research scientist from the University of Wyoming, USA, paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the International Programmes Office

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Dr. Paddington Hodza, a Senior Research Scientist from the University of Wyoming, USA, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The visit marked the commencement of Dr. Hodza’s 45-day academic engagement at KNUST as a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow.

Dr. Hodza was introduced to the IPO by Professor David Dotse Wemegah, Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, and Dr. Cyril Dziedzorm Boateng, Lecturer in the same department. During his stay, Dr. Hodza will collaborate with Professor Wemegah and Dr. Boateng on the TIDEKIT Coastal Erosion Project in Keta, a critical initiative addressing environmental challenges along Ghana’s coastline.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Dr. Hodza praised the rich Ghanaian culture, highlighting the delightful cuisine and the friendliness of the people. He conveyed his enthusiasm for the collaborative research and cultural exchange opportunities presented by his fellowship.

Professor Daniel Duah welcomed Dr. Hodza warmly, underscoring the importance of international partnerships to KNUST’s mission. He emphasized that such collaborations enrich research efforts by bringing diverse perspectives to shared challenges. He assured Dr. Hodza that the International Programmes Office would remain a home away from home throughout his stay and wished him a productive and memorable experience at KNUST.

Also present at the meeting were Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer – all of the IPO.
