South Dakota State University students on academic exchange called on the Director of University Health Services

Following their arrival at the International Programmes Office (IPO) on Monday, May 12, 2025, students from health-related programmes at South Dakota State University (SDSU), USA, continued their academic exchange activities with a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital on Tuesday, May 13.

The team was introduced to the Hospital by Dr. Ebenezer Asamoah Nyarko, Senior Hospital Pharmacist and coordinator of the team's health-and culture related activities.

At the hospital, the delegation was warmly received by Dr. Nana Kwame Ofori Ayisi-Boateng, Director of University Health Services. In his welcome remarks, Dr. Ayisi-Boateng expressed his delight at hosting the students and commended the initiative behind the visit. He emphasized that the vision of the hospital is to contribute to the training of world-class health professionals, and that the students’ visit aligns perfectly with this mission. He assured the team that the hospital is equipped with ultramodern facilities that will greatly support their observational learning and shadowing experiences. He wished them a productive and enriching stay.

Also speaking at the event, Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office, reiterated IPO’s unwavering commitment to supporting the students throughout their time at KNUST. He encouraged them to regard the IPO as their second home and take full advantage of all resources available to them.

The SDSU team then made a generous donation of items to the university hospital which was received by the Deputy Directorof Nursing Services at the hospital
