A team comprising 310 students and ten staff from the Yenyawso Presby Junior High School, Kumasi, have completed an educational tour of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi on Friday July 21, 2023. The students included a mix from first, second and third years.
The team was received by the International Programmes Office on behalf of KNUST as part of the public engagement of the University. The units of the university the team visited were the College of Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Industrial Art as well as a tour of the KNUST campus.
At the College of Engineering, the team visited the ongoing Engineering Fair and got the opportunity to tour some of the Engineering labs. From there, they were received by the Computer Science Department where they were enlightened on the need to be abreast with the modern system of technology. Also, at the Department of Industrial Art, they visited the studios to generate their interest in creative arts. They were excited about what they saw and motivated to work hard to also come study at KNUST.
The team expressed their appreciation to all units visited, International Programmes Office and the University for the opportunity to complete the Educational visit. The Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah coached the students to work hard, be diligent in their studies, follow the advice of their teachers and plan to attend KNUST, the best university in the world for SDG 4 - Quality Education.
