Delegation from 3GC INC. And HBCU call on Dean of International Programmes Office to foster Collaboration and Partnership

A delegation of 13 students from Give. Gain. Grow. Collaborative (3GC Inc.) and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Africa Education Coalition (HAEC), paid a courtesy call on the Dean of the International Programmes Office, Professor Daniel Duah on 18th May, 2023. The delegation was led by distinguished Social Work Professor, Dr. Enchante' M. Franklin from the University of the Virgin Islands, USA.

On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and Management of the University, Prof. Duah welcomed the group to KNUST, a leading science and technology university in Africa. He gave an overview of the organizational structures of KNUST and her internalisation goals.

The call served as a platform for discussions on collaboration and partnership between the visiting organisations and KNUST. The group stated their intention to establish an annual visiting programme to enable its students engage in educational and social services exchanges and also foster cultural understanding and create opportunities for students from the United States to engage with KNUST. They shared their vision of collaboration, knowledge exchange and addressed social challenges through collective efforts. Both parties recognised the transformative power of cross-cultural educational experiences and their potential to empower students and communities.

Prof. Duah expressed the enthusiasm of KNUST to explore the collaboration, emphasizing the immense value in connecting institutions across continents to create a global learning community. He commended the visiting organizations for their commitment to fostering meaningful exchanges and addressing societal needs.

Dr. Enchante' M. Franklin conveyed her appreciation for the warm reception at KNUST. She highlighted the importance of cross-cultural educational experiences in empowering students and fostering global citizenship and expressed her excitement about the future possibilities of this collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further dialogue into the development of a comprehensive framework for collaboration.

Present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar at the International Programmes Office and Mr. Stephen Oppong Osei Tutu, Senior Administrative Assistant of the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office, who played a key role in initiating the visit.
