The International Programmes Office (IPO), KNUST held the second session of the French Open Day at the Gardener Conference Room, Great Hall on the main campus on Friday July 21, 2023. The Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, shared the rationale for the French Open Day as an opportunity to learn about opportunities to study in France, cultural exchanges among others. He also took the opportunity to briefly talk about the mandate of the IPO and encouraged the university community to make the most of her services.
Cecile Sanz, Director of Campus France, KNUST and also overseeing activities up to the north of Ghana, gave a presentation on Universities in France and ways to apply for these universities and scholarships as well as the services offered by Campus France to the university community.
With about one hundred (100) persons attending, a unique feature of the participants was that it included some students from the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Ghana’s foremost Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Entrepreneurship Teacher Education Institution. The Principal of the University of Media, Arts and Communication( UniMAC), Kumasi Campus as well as a French Teacher from T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School also joined for this session.
The presentations were followed by an interactive Q&A that focused on fees, scholarships, opportunities for doctoral translators, visa acquisition, scholarship opportunities for International students at KNUST, among others.
Present at the event were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar and Ms. Shalom Agborli, Inbound Exchange Officer both of the International Programmes Office.
