Knowledge Transfer Partnerships Delegation from UK Paid Courtesy Visit to the Dean of the International Programmes Office

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a delegation from Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The delegation comprised Professor Ali Kashif Bashir, Professor of Computer Networks and Cybersecurity at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU); Dr. Mohammed Al-Khalidi, Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity at MMU; Mr. Richard Lamb, Programme Manager. KTP; and Mr. John Clayton, Knowledge Transfer Adviser, KTP. The team was introduced by Dr. Eric Tutu Tchao, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering at KNUST.

Dr. Tchao highlighted that the visit was part of the final phase of the Farmsense project, a collaboration between KNUST and KTP. He explained that the delegation was in Ghana to officially launch the project and explore ways to transfer the knowledge and innovations developed during its implementation to the wider university community.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the visitors and expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project. He emphasized the strategic importance KNUST places on industry-academic collaborations, in line with the vision of the Vice-Chancellor. He further emphasized the effectiveness of inter-departmental partnerships, noting that such collaborations often lead to more sustainable outcomes, largely due to the presence of committed individuals who champion and drive these initiatives. Professor Duah expressed enthusiasm about the launch of Farmsense project and wished the delegation a productive and enjoyable stay at KNUST and Ghana.

Also present at the meeting were Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer, all from the International Programmes Office.
