On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Mr. Alexander Prokopenko, Associate Director of the Office of International Recruitment at Humber College of Technology & Advanced Learning in Canada, paid a courtesy call on Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Mr. Prokopenko was introduced to the IPO by Professor Jerry John Kponyo, Dean of the Quality Assurance and Planning Office.
Mr. Prokopenko is visiting Ghana as part of efforts to expand Humber College’s international partnerships. During his visit to the IPO, he held discussions with Professor Duah aimed at strengthening the existing collaboration between Humber College and KNUST. He emphasized Humber College’s commitment to global engagement, highlighting the institution’s focus on career-oriented education, student mobility, and faculty exchange programmes. He also expressed satisfaction with the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.
Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed Mr. Prokopenko and provided an overview of KNUST, emphasizing the University’s commitment to internationalization. He noted that the University Management believes every KNUST graduate should be equipped to work globally, a goal that is made possible through strategic international partnerships. He reaffirmed the IPO’s dedication to advancing collaboration with Humber College and wished Mr. Prokopenko a fruitful stay at KNUST.
Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer—all of the IPO.
