On Friday, May 9, 2025, Miss Kimberley R. Follaolos, a second-year Master’s student from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Miss Follaolos was introduced to the IPO by Professor Vincent Logah, Head of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at KNUST. According to Professor Logah, Miss Follaolos arrived at KNUST on April 29 and is undertaking a four-month research project in Soil Chemical Fractionation, primarily working in the university’s advanced laboratories and that the research focuses on investigating characteristics of similar soils in Brazil and Ghana.

Expressing her gratitude, Miss Follaolos commended the warm reception she has received from both students and faculty. She shared her delight with the local cuisine and noted that she has not felt homesick due to the welcoming environment. Beyond her academic pursuits, she emphasized her enthusiasm for learning about Ghanaian culture during her stay.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed Miss Follaolos and highlighted the importance of international student mobility for academic and cultural exchange. He assured her that the IPO would serve as her second home throughout her time at KNUST and wished her a fruitful and enriching experience.

Present at the meeting were Joshua, a third-year Ph.D. student in Soil Science; Livingstone, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Attah-Nyame, Visibility and Communications Officer.
