Confucius Institute at KNUST and International Programmes Office Held Send-Off for Chinese Lecturers

The Confucius Institute at KNUST in partnership with the International Programmes Office and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) held a farewell gathering for two lecturers on the Chinese minor programme, Prof. Min Zuchuan and Prof. Cai Xiaohui at the Conference Room of Singh Guest House. The couple were celebrated for 4 years of meritorious service to KNUST in teaching the Chinese language and for the support in establishing the Confucius Institute here.

Having arrived from Hubei University of Automotive Technology, the couple’s dedication, diligence, and love for the work, the people and the country has been evident throughout their stay.

Speakers included Prof. Charles Marfo, Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office and Ghanaian Director of the Confucius Institute; Prof. Su Zibo, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute; Dr. Mrs. Victoria Faleke, Head of Department of Language and Communication Sciences, and staff from these units.

There were presentation of gifts to the couple in appreciation of their service. In their responses, Profs. Min and Cai indicated that they had been very well received at KNUST and that they counted Ghana as their second home. They appreciated the support received throughout their time here and promised to be great ambassadors of KNUST in China.

We wish them the very best in their next endeavors as they return to Hubei, China
