A delegation from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, comprising Professor Clinton O. Aigbavboa, Director of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Centre of Excellence; and Dr. Douglas O. Aghimien, Postdoctoral Researcher in Construction paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The visit was part of a broader initiative to conduct a workshop on "Strengthening Research for the Faculty of Built Environment at KNUST." Dr. Ernest Kissi, Senior Lecturer at KNUST's Department of Construction Technology and Management, facilitated the introduction of the delegation to the IPO. The delegation also included Dr. Aloysius Sam, Lecturer in the Department of Building Technology at Kumasi Technical University.
Professor Aigbavboa highlighted the success of a similar workshop held at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and expressed confidence in a positive outcome at KNUST.
Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of integrating industry experience into academic research. He viewed the workshop as a valuable opportunity for KNUST's Faculty of Built Environment to bridge the gap between research and industry practice. He conveyed his enthusiasm for the workshop and wished the delegation a pleasant stay at KNUST.
Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer.
