On Monday, January 6, 2025, Dr. Julian Bloomer, Assistant Lecturer at the Mary Immaculate College, Ireland paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The visit was facilitated by Professor Prince Osei-Wusu Adjei, Head of the Department of Geography and also had Mr. Evans Amoako Amoah, a Ghanaian Ph.D. exchange student in Ireland attending.
Professor Adjei explained that Dr. Bloomer had visited KNUST to teach in the Geography Department as part of the Staff Exchange Mobility under the Erasmus+ Agreement. He noted that this introduction was to help engage with the International Programmes Office to support his stay and help develop a lasting partnership.
Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the guests, extending greetings on behalf of the Vice Chancellor and the entire University Management. He emphasized the significance of partnerships for KNUST, highlighting how such international collaborations open up global opportunities for local communities. Professor Duah also provided Dr. Bloomer with an overview of KNUST’s collegiate system, emphasizing that these institutions have thrived through strong partnerships.
Dr. Bloomer expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality he had received at KNUST, particularly at the IPO Guest House. Professor Duah reassured him of KNUST's excitement to have him on campus and wished him the best for the duration of his stay.
