On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, members of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) from Iowa State University, committed to assisting developing communities through sustainable engineering projects, visited Professor Daniel Duah, the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The group, led by Professor Dirk Maier, is in Ghana to discuss ongoing projects in the Ullo community in the Upper West Region of Ghana. These initiatives include the installation of rainwater catchment systems, micro-irrigation, and the construction of mechanized, solar-powered boreholes for the Ullo Senior High School, among others.
During their visit, the EWB team took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the IPO for facilitating their visas on arrival and for the warm hospitality extended to them.
Professor Daniel Duah welcomed the team warmly, commended them on their devotion to humanity and wished them a productive stay.
Also present at the meeting were Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, the Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, the Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, the Visibility and Communications Officer.
