On Monday, 3rd March 2026, a delegation comprising Prof. Pierre Mounanga, Executive Director of Research and Innovation and Ms. Florence Malaise, Director of International Relations from JUNIA, France, paid a courtesy call on Professor Edmund Ekuadzi, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The team was warmly received by the Dean and the Vice Dean of the IPO, Professor (Mrs.) Augustina Angelina Sylverken.
The visit aimed to strengthen existing collaborations, conduct interviews to shortlist students for the 3+2 track programme, and facilitate teaching mobility activities.
Professor Jonathan Hogarh, Head of the Department of Environmental Science, described the decade-long partnership as highly fruitful, with notable successes. He outlined plans to expand the collaboration beyond mobility to deepen research and innovation between the two Institutions, acknowledging the strong institutional and financial support from the Embassy of France in Ghana and the Erasmus+ Programme. Their support has enhanced staff mobility, research exchanges, PhD training, and undergraduate and postgraduate opportunities.
Professor Ekuadzi welcomed the renewed focus on research, noting its alignment with KNUST’s vision of fostering global research partnerships to address pressing challenges. He emphasised leveraging the trust built over the years to develop impactful, research-driven programmes for the next decade.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing confidence that the partnership will continue to grow, defined not only by mobility but by innovative joint research initiatives that advance academic excellence in both Institutions.
Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Angelina Augustina Sylverken, Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Mr. Joel Mensah and Miss Patricia Frimpong Manso, all from the IPO.
