Starting in 2018, the TUM Campus Heilbronn seeks to educate digital thought leaders, future leaders, entrepreneurs, and pioneers in technology-driven careers. The interdisciplinary approach in two bachelor's and three master's programmes combines management, engineering, and computer science.

Founded in 2002 by entrepreneur Susanne Klatten, the non-profit UnternehmerTUM GmbH is Europe's leading center for startups and innovation, with more than 100 high-growth technology startups annually and its unique offering. Activities include helping founders implement their ideas, more than 500 experienced employees helping start-ups develop products, having a MakerSpace to help companies, start-ups and creatives producing prototypes and small series at two locations on a total of 2,700 square meters.

The team was shown round the facilities by Lara Knödler and discussed the ongoing Afrika meets Bavaria entrepreneurship project where students from KNUST are participating. Dr.-Ing Simon Herzog welcomed the delegation and highlighted some major activities and future plans.

Prof. Duah showed his admiration for the impressive output of UnternehmerTUM and indicated that the partnership would help KNUST’s drive to turn research outputs into economically viable projects and to have our graduates as employers rather than employees.

The team later met with some participants of the Afrika Meets Bavaria project from Ghana and Kenya.
