On Monday, January 6, 2025, Professor Zijuan Gao, the new Chinese Teacher for the Confucius Institute (CI) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from the Hubei University of Automotive Technology, China, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) who also doubled as the Ghanaian Director of CI KNUST. She was introduced by Prof. Su Zibo, Chinese Director of CI KNUST.
Professor Su explained that Professor Gao had come to KNUST to teach Chinese at KNUST and support the activities of the Confucius Institute. He emphasized the importance of introducing her to Professor Duah and the IPO, which would serve as her primary point of contact during her stay.
Professor Daniel Duah extended a warm welcome to Prof. Gao, conveying greetings on behalf of the Vice Chancellor and the entire University Management. He highlighted the importance of partnerships for KNUST and underscored how international collaborations create global opportunities for the local community. Professor Duah also provided an overview of KNUST’s colleges, noting how these institutions have thrived through strong partnerships. As the Ghanaian Director of the Confucius Institute, he also shared some of the significant activities that have taken place within the CI.
In response, Professor Gao expressed her gratitude for the warm reception she had received at KNUST.
Professor Duah reassured Professor Gao of the Confucius Institute and university’s excitement about her presence on campus and wished her a successful stay.
