Outbound Exchange Students to Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany Calls on Dean of the International Programmes Office ahead of Departure

Clement Aryee, a second year Master of Philosophy student from the Department of Sociology and Social Work, together with Professor Esmeranda Manful, Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office who also doubles as the Erasmus+ Project Lead and Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work, met the Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y.A. Duah on 22nd August 2023.

Mr. Aryee received an invitation from the Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany to partake in a 2023/2024 Winter semester exchange programme in Master of Social Work in the area of Child Protection. The programme is a fully funded DAAD-Erasmus+KA171 scholarship and is scheduled for 1st September 2023 to 29th March 2024.

On behalf of the Vice Chancellor and university management, Professor Duah welcomed and congratulated Clement. He expressed his excitement about the opportunity for him to undertake a 6-month exchange programme in Germany. The Dean, in his congratulatory message to Clement, urged him to represent KNUST, Ghana and his family well and also to take his studies seriously and finally make an impact. He charged him to make the most of this opportunity and also improve his social network in Germany.

Professor Duah, together with the Vice Dean, discussed the ā€œPreparation for Outbound Pre-Departureā€ checklist and the expectations on his outbound journey to Germany in detail with him.

Present at the meeting were the following staff of the International Programmes Office; Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar; Mr. Christopher Asamoah Bediako, Outbound Officer; and Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Visibility and Publicity Officer.
