Professor Tiffany Baffour Paid Courtesy Visit to the Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Professor Tiffany Baffour, Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Utah, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Esmeranda Manful, Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Professor Esmeranda Manful warmly welcomed Professor Tiffany Baffour and provided an overview of KNUST’s institutional structure. She highlighted the significance of the university’s partnership with the University of Utah, particularly in strengthening the Department of Sociology at KNUST.

During the meeting, Professor Tiffany Baffour shared her positive experiences during her journey and emphasized the purpose of her visit: to explore opportunities for revitalizing and expanding the existing collaboration between the two institutions. She expressed a keen interest in fostering more research initiatives and facilitating funded student exchange programs, especially within the Department of Sociology. Additionally, she noted that she would return with the Dean of Sociology at the University of Utah for further discussions with the IPO.

Professor Esmeranda Manful welcomed the proposal with enthusiasm and reaffirmed the IPO’s commitment to advancing international partnerships. She also suggested the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize and solidify this significant collaboration between the two institutions.

Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer.
