Students from the University of Eastern Finland Paid Courtesy Visit to the Dean of the International Programmes Office

On Monday, February 3, 2025, Miss Olga-Susanna Koivunen and Mr. Jaakko Koivuniemi, third-year Pharmacy students from the University of Eastern Finland, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science. They were accompanied by Professor Samuel Asare-Nkansah, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at KNUST, and Dr. Jaakko Koivuniemi, father of Jaakko Koivuniemi.

Olga and Jaakko are at KNUST for a three-month internship focusing on experiential learning as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme with KNUST.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the guests and emphasized that this exchange presents a valuable opportunity for both Finnish and KNUST students to learn from each other. He introduced them to some of the IPO’s flagship events, including “Around the World in a Day”, “International Students’ Hangout”, “Akwaba Night” and “KNUST Food Festival”, encouraging them to balance their academics with these engaging cultural experiences. He reassured them that the IPO is their second home during their stay at KNUST and that they are always welcome.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer, Mr. Karikari Gyimah Ankoana, Inbound-Outbound Exchange Officer, and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer.
