Team from KNUST visited the Institute of Advanced Studies at the Technical University of Munich, Germany

A team from KNUST led by Prof. David Asamoah, Pro Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) that included Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office, and Phanuel Seli Asense, a Deputy Director of the University Information Technology Services in charge of Cyber Security visited the Institute of Advance Studies at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) on Wednesday at the Garching campus. The delegation is in Munich to attend the EuroTech Partner Days at TUM.

The delegation was very warmly welcomed by Prof. Michael Molls, the Director of IAS and his team including Anna Kohout, Morwenna Joubin, and Daniela Hägele. He shared an overview of the vision and mission as well as the governing structure of the IAS.

He also spent some time explaining TUM-IAS Fellowships highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary for the partnerships and also shared some major activities of IAS in the past 20 years.

A section of the interactions also focused on sustainability and research related to the SDGs as well as the sustainability award of Nobel Sustainability Trust Foundation (NSF). Finally there was the discussion about the Seminar Series of European Universities on Sustainability.

Prof. Asamoah appreciated the warm reception and deep insights into the operations of the IAS and assured that KNUST would work hard to have a footprint on the uptake of fellowships with TUM partners focusing on sustainability and identifying new research focus that are mutually beneficial.
