Team from University of Ibadan, Nigeria Call on Vice Chancellor

As part of its international field visit to Ghana, a team of thirty comprising two faculty members and twenty-eight students from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, is currently on a 4-day visit to KNUST. The team, led by Professor Saka Oladunni Jimoh, Head, Department of Sustainability Studies and Dr. Olawale Emmanuel Olayide, Research Fellow at the Department of Sustainability Studies and Coordinator, Sustainable Development Practice Programme, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson at the Council Chamber on June 13, 2023.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of Management and the university community, welcomed the team to KNUST, the best University in the world for SDG 4 - Quality Education according to the Times Higher Education for 2023. She expressed her delight in the existing collaboration between the two institutions. She commended the University of Ibadan for its drive in maintaining its partnership with KNUST and hoped that the partnership between the two institutions would be strengthened further.

In response to the Vice-Chancellor’s remarks, Prof. Saka Oladunni Jimoh stated that the team is excited to be in KNUST and looked forward to learning about KNUST’s sustainable development practices. In view of this, Prof. Daniel Y.A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office and an Associate Professor of Architecture, highlighted the itinerary of the visit that included a visit to the KNUST Recycling Centre, KNUST Botanical gardens, and various departments of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, KNUST.

Present at the occasion was Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar of the International Programmes Office.
