Council of Ghana Institute of Architects Engages Provost of CABE, Staff, and Students of the Department of Architecture

On March 24, 2025, the Council of the Ghana Institute of Architects engaged the Provost of the College of Art and Built Environment, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. John Tiah Bugri; the staff of the Department of Architecture under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Dr. Victor Quagraine, and students of the Department of Architecture.

Prof. Bugri indicated that Provost experience sharing and mutual growth is so important that KNUST sets aside time for industry partnership and that it was good Council had visited. “The world is not static and things change rapidly so your visit to help build a useful society in the spectral domain is a good thing”, he added.

Prof. Bugri also noted that the college was set to institutionalize a process for industry to deliver thought provoking lectures to support the work of academics with their rich industry background.

At the engagement with the staff of the Department, creative ways of engaging the Department by the Institute as well as understanding the challenges and prospects were bright to the fore.

President Asare announced the donation of computers and air conditioners worth Ghs140,000 to support the Department. He also noted the introduction of an architecture fiesta between KNUST and Central Architecture programmes to foster the bond between the students of architecture and enhance knowledge sharing. He also announced that the Institute would support the development of an interactive map of KNUST that showcased important information including buildings, date of construction, architects, builders and other interesting information.

Finally the team met with students in a closed for engagement to take feedback from them about ways of improving the programme and to share their experiences with them.
