On Monday, May 12, 2025, Miss Nicole Kim and Miss Tiffany Lin, who have completed the third-year of the Nursing programme at the University of Michigan, USA, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The two students were introduced to the IPO by Dr. Edward Appiah Boateng, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nursing, who represented the Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Accompanying him were Miss Senita Osei Badu, Senior Assistant Registrar at the School, and Miss Emmanuella Bemah Asamoah, Senior Administrative Assistant at the Dean’s Office.

Dr. Boateng explained that Miss Kim and Miss Lin, who arrived in Ghana on Sunday, May 11, are undertaking a one-month internship at the School of Nursing and Midwifery. As part of their orientation, they were introduced to the IPO to familiarize them with the various support services available to international students.

During the visit, Miss Kim and Miss Lin shared that they are in Ghana not only to gain academic experience but also to immerse themselves in the country’s diverse cultures, as this is their first time visiting.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the interns and expressed his delight at the continued collaboration between KNUST and the University of Michigan. He remarked that previous cohorts from the University of Michigan had left a positive impression and expressed confidence that the current interns would do the same. He encouraged them to make the most of their stay, assured them that the IPO would be their second home while in Ghana, and invited them to actively participate in the cultural events organized by the Office. He wished them a fruitful and enriching experience during their internship.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer, and Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Visibility and Communications Officer at the IPO.
