On Monday, May 12, 2025, a delegation of scientists from the University of Oregon, USA, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The delegation was led by Dr. Robyn Leigh Tanguay, Distinguished Professor in the College of Agricultural Sciences, and included Dr. William Stubblefield, Professor of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology, and Dr. Lisa Truong, Associate Professor in the same field.
The visit forms part of a working trip to KNUST, during which the team will also lead a seminar scheduled for May 14. The seminar will focus on two main topics: “Advancing Human and Environmental Health through High-Throughput Discovery of Gene-Environment Interactions in Zebrafish” and “Predicting Ecological Effects from Laboratory and Field-Based Tools: Applying Risk Assessment Techniques to Abandoned Mine Sites.”
The delegation was introduced to the IPO by Dr. Alexander Quarteng, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
