The International Programmes Office (IPO), KNUST, had the pleasure of welcoming a vibrant delegation from the Association des Étudiants Francophones (AEF) during a courtesy call on Wednesday, 18th March 2026.

Led by their newly elected executives—Mr. Jean Ange Emmanuel Adou Granger Sidike (President, Côte d’Ivoire), Miss Mary Cynthia Onuoha (Secretary, Côte d’Ivoire), and Miss Ngounio Gabia Ngou Amanda Eve (General Secretary, Central African Republic)—the visit marked an important moment of introduction, connection, and renewed collaboration.

Representing a dynamic community of over 160 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 11 Francophone countries, AEF continues to play a vital role in fostering cultural exchange, unity, and belonging among French-speaking students at KNUST. From welcome picnics for freshers to upcoming panel discussions addressing student experiences, their calendar reflects a commitment to engagement, advocacy, and cultural celebration.

Looking ahead, the Association shared exciting plans including road trips, community outreach initiatives, sports activities, and a special Homecoming event to reconnect Francophone alumni with the university community.

In his remarks, the Dean of IPO, Prof. Edmund Ekuadzi, commended the group’s efforts and encouraged stronger collaboration with the International Students Association (ISA). He further proposed aligning AEF’s Homecoming initiative with the flagship ISA Festival—an idea that promises an even richer celebration of diversity on campus.

At KNUST, every culture finds a home—and every voice matters.

Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Ms. Victoria Barns, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Ms. Patricia Frimpong Manso, Visibility and Communications Officer, all from the International Programmes Office.
