On May 28, 2025, an interdisciplinary team of students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), who participated in the Africa Meets Bavaria initiative, presented their innovative projects to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office. The team was led by the students’ supervisor, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye.

The team was divided into two groups:

Team Innovatec comprising Mr. Samuel Osei, Mr. Blysius Morty, Miss Courtney Klutse, and Miss Soraya Nkrumah Bentum

Team Tech-Titans comprising Mr. John Mensah, Mr. Devine Kwesi Fosu, and Miss Brigitte Sackey

Team Innovatec presented their project titled BusGo, a mobile application designed to conveniently connect travelers with bus services. The app allows users to select their preferred bus, choose available seats, indicate their location and destination, and opt for a convenient payment method - all through a user-friendly digital interface.

Team Tech-Titans introduced GoWasteGo, a digital waste management platform that links households producing recyclable waste with recycling companies. The app incentivizes users to recycle, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and contributing to climate action efforts.

The participants shared how the Africa Meets Bavaria program had a transformative impact on their personal development, enhancing their digital competencies and entrepreneurial mindset.

Professor Daniel Duah applauded the students for their innovative ideas and dedication. He emphasized the importance of viewing their projects not just as academic exercises, but as viable ventures with real-world applications. “This is a unique opportunity to monetize your research,” he said, encouraging the students to continue refining their products and to aspire to become employers rather than employees.

The next steps would involve obtaining further training from the Incubation Hub and refining their respective projects to have venture capitalists embrace it.
