Dean of International Programmes Office Engages Indian High Commissioner to Ghana

Following the interaction between the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, HE Sugandh Rajaram and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, and a cross section of education stakeholders in the Ashanti Region about intensifying the relations between India and Ghana at the level of people, the Dean of the International Programmes Office has engaged the Ambassador on June 15, 2023 at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council.

Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between India and educational institutions in Ghana including universities and opportunities for such growth especially with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

The earlier interaction had HE Rajaram and his team have an interaction session attended by various educational stakeholders and representatives from various schools in the region including KNUST who was represented by the Dean of IPO, Hannah Charkour Ayeh, SRC Presidential Envoy and of the KNUST Business School, and Samuel Sarpong, Media and Communication Officer of the IPO.

There were brief addresses by the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana and the Ashanti Regional Minister on some of the measures being put in place for the mutual benefit of India and Ghana. These included scholarship opportunities, exchange programmes and high-level visits.

The interaction included engaging in a survey exercise on the drivers of socio-economic external engagement of Ghana for strengthening South-South partnership. The purpose was to gather knowledge from all stakeholders for decision-making.
