Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office met with KNUST Student Leaders on 9th May, 2023 at the DoSA Conference Room. The meeting, which was at the invitation of the SRC President, Mr. Frank Owusu, included leaders from Colleges, SRC, Halls and Hostels as well as representatives from KNUST Obuasi Campus.
Prof. Duah gave a brief introduction of the IPO as an office under the Vice Chancellor’s office through which KNUST establishes and develops external relations with institutions both in Ghana and abroad. He stated that KNUST has about 400 Memorandum of Understanding with other Universities/Institutions across the world.
He mentioned that the IPO is in charge of staff and student exchange, scholarships and also promotes the welfare of international/exchange staff and students; immigration issues, residence permit, visa on arrival and its extension. The IPO also facilitates GRE, GMAT, TOEFL & IELTS classes for students and the acquisition of passports for the University community through her partners.
He highlighted some scholarship and exchange opportunities available to the university community and encouraged the leaders to take advantage of and also connect with the IPO on her various social media handles and website for regular updates.
