On Wednesday and Thursday, May 7–8, 2025, the E-Learning Centre at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) organized a two-day intensive hands-on training session for international students who remained on campus during the vacation period.

The training focused on two key areas: Social Media Marketing, conducted at the e-VBAB, and Graphic Design, held at the Library Mall. To ensure an in-depth and practical learning experience, each student was required to choose and participate in one of the two programmes based on their personal interest.

Speaking at the opening session, Prof. Eric Appau Asante, Director of the E-Learning Centre, encouraged participants to take the training seriously, emphasizing that “the skills acquired here can open doors to employment and entrepreneurial opportunities beyond your areas of academic specialties. Embrace this training as a bridge to your future.”

Prof. Asante also commended the Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y.A. Duah, and the Director of the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, Prof. Marian Nkansah, for their support and endorsement of this innovative and historic training. He further acknowledged the leadership of the International Students Association (ISA), headed by Pascal, for their hard work and mobilisation efforts.

A total of 71 international students participated in the training. The programme concluded with a practical test to assess the skills acquired and the overall effectiveness of the training.

In his closing remarks, Prof Daniel Duah congratulated each participant for taking the bold step in learning a new skill and added that these skills when practiced would come in handy in their future endeavors

This initiative by the E-Learning Centre, in collaboration with the International Students Association at KNUST, aims to promote digital literacy and awareness among international students, equipping them with relevant skills to meet modern technological demands.
