This initiative fosters curiosity, appreciation for diversity, and a global mindset, inspiring students to embrace the richness of different cultures. Join us as we embark on a journey of discovery, unity, and celebration—bringing the world to KNUST Basic School.

The maiden edition provided an immersive journey into German traditions, language, and customs. The Dean of the International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Duah emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and knowledge of the world through the lenses of nationals in his welcome remarks.

Two exchange students and two visiting faculty from Munich and Darmstadt, Germany shared a detailed presentation that introduced Germany’s geography, seasons, clothing, history, and traditions such as Oktoberfest and Christmas markets. Students then engaged in a lively language session, learning basic German phrases through interactive games.

The KNUST choreography Group entertained with a dynamic dance performance, followed by cultural games like Topfschlagen, allowing students to experience German customs firsthand.

The programme concluded with remarks from the headmistress, Rev. Mrs. Irene Nkansah, who shared her gratitude to the IPO for such an innovative and educative programme. Ms. Eden Chloe Donkor said the closing Prayer.

The event successfully fostered global awareness, enabling students to explore Germany’s rich heritage without leaving their school.
