Mr. Paul Atta Twumasi Obeng, Senior Assistant Registrar from the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs and the Ashanti Regional Ambassador of the Folklore Board paid a courtesy call on Prof. Daniel Y.A. Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office on August 07, 2023.
The purpose of his visit was to explore partnership between San Diego State University, USA and KNUST following earlier engagement with Professor Avery Caldwell, an Assistant Professor of Art and Design. Prof. Caldwell is working on a research project on Adinkra Symbols in Ghana and is keen on exploring possibilities of Staff and student mobilities.
On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and University Management, Prof. Duah welcomed him to KNUST and gave a brief overview of the University. He highlighted that the University operates a collegiate system. He also expressed his delight in the possibility of establishing a partnership with San Diego State University, USA, noting the benefits of such mobilities to both institutions. He indicated that the IPO will engage with the Department of Architecture to work out details of the collaboration following which the IPO will prepare the agreement with the relevant units of the university.
Mr. Obeng was accompanied by Mr. Robert Oguh, a Technical Assistant, Department of Architecture.
Also, at the meeting was Miss Shalom Ewenam Agborli, Inbound Exchange Officer of the International Programmes Office.
