Ph.D. candidate from TU Berlin paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the International Programmes Office

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Miss Elettra Griesi, a Ph.D. candidate from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Miss Griesi was introduced to the IPO by Professor Prince Osei-Wusu Adjei, Head of the Department of Geography and Rural Development at KNUST. Professor Osei-Wusu Adjei explained that Miss Griesi, who recently completed her doctoral thesis in Sociology at TU Berlin, is collaborating with KNUST’s Geography Department on a project examining the effects of European policies on poverty in Africa.

During the visit, Miss Griesi shared that this is her first time in Ghana and looked forward to working on a running project to get the Ghanaian context. She expressed admiration for Ghanaian cuisine and noted that she is open-minded and eager to learn throughout her stay.

Professor Daniel Duah warmly welcomed the guest and highlighted the crucial role of partnerships in advancing KNUST’s mission. He emphasized that cross-cultural exchanges enhances knowledge sharing and introduces diverse approaches to solving problems. He assured Miss Griesi of the IPO’s readiness to provide any necessary support and wished her a safe and rewarding stay.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Livingstone Agbenorxevi, Assistant Collaborations and Partnerships Officer, and Mr. Attah-Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer, both from the IPO.
