SRC PRESIDENT PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON THE DEAN OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES OFFICE

On Wednesday, December 03, 2025, the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Shakir Is-haq, paid a courtesy call on the new Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Professor Edmund Ekuadzi to introduce himself and discuss potential collaborations between the SRC and the IPO and discuss the Src’s objectives and aims to the upcoming academic year.

During the meeting, discussions focused on supporting the welfare of both international and local students, exploring scholarship opportunities, and identifying ways in which the SRC could collaborate with the IPO to enhance student engagement on campus.

The President (SRC), Shakir Is-haq hindered that collaborating with the IPO will foster respect and collaboration among diverse students enhances engagement, cross-cultural learning, and holistic development, preparing graduates to be skilled, socially responsible, and globally minded. He also highlighted the benefits of executive partnerships with global institutions, noting that such collaborations open up opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, scholarships, and cross-cultural learning experiences.

Professor Ekuadzi welcomed the initiative, highlighting the IPO’s commitment to fostering partnerships that enhance the student experience and strengthen the University’s global engagement. He extended the IPO’s IPO’s readiness to support SRC-led programmes, including ceremonial activities, and to facilitate avenues for student participation in IPO initiatives, especially the Akwaaba Nights and the International Student Association festival

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing a shared commitment to working together to advance the welfare of students and promote meaningful collaboration across the University.
