ARMAND ZORN, MP FOR FRANKFURT AM MAIN I DISTRICT VISITS KNUST

The MP for Frankfurt am Main I District, Germany Armand Zorn has paid a working visit to KNUST. As part of his visit, he paid a courtesy call on the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ellis Owusu Dabo. He was accompanied by Sivine Jansen Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy-Ghana.

The Prof. Owusu Dabo welcomed the delegation to KNUST and highlighted the varied research collaborations KNUST has with Universities across Germany. He also mentioned new collaborations being discussed such as the Cultural Centre (to be supported by the German Embassy), the Innovation Centre (to be supported by the Technical University of Munich) and the holding of German Fairs on campus.

Sivine Jansen also mentioned that the Embassy hopes to hold a conference in October in KNUST as part of the German Day celebration.

MP Armand Zorn mentioned his interest in the discourse on the need for African nations to review their partnership with the global north by emphasising strategic partnership. He was also interested in advocating for opportunities and the importance of exchange programmes to improve learning.

The German team’s visit was facilitated by Dr. Ralph Nyando-Addo, Head of the Department of Publishing Studies, KNUST who was accompanied by Irene Appiah, Council Member of Hamburg.
