Apagyahene And Dean International Programmes Office Join Presentations of Graduate Architecture Students of KNUST And Aalto University on Urban Study Of Kumasi

APAGYAHENE AND DEAN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES

Otumfuor’s Apagyahene and Director of Otumfuor’s Land Secretariat Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV and the Dean of International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Duah have joined staff and students of the Master of Architecture Year 1 class at KNUST and graduate students of Architecture from Aalto University, Finland on Monday February 27, 2023. 


It would be recalled that following the signing of an MOU in October 2022, the Architecture programmes of KNUST and Aalto University have been collaborating in an Urban Study focusing on the new Kumasi International Airport and the effect it would have on Manhyia and parts of Asokore Mampong and Oforikrom which is expected to have a new interchange constructed too. 


Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV and Prof. Daniel Duah, both practicing architects, took turns to give meaningful feedback to the students, commended them for their hardwork and emphasized the importance of the work to the overall development of Kumasi. 
Teams from the Planning Office of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and Otumfuor’s Land Secretariat joined the presentations to give practical feedback to the various teams. 


Dr. Ing. Alexander Boakye Marful, Studio Master for the class and lead the Urban Survey  represented the Year Master, Prof. Edward Botchway, was grateful to the dignitaries for their immense contribution throughout the process and promised that the teams would work hard to achieve the desired results. He also looked forward to the implementation of the results. Taru Niskanen Lecturer from Aalto University also gave valuable feedback and inputs.
