Team from Earlham College, USA Call on Dean of the International Programmes Office

A team of eight (8) from Earlham College, a Liberal Arts College in Richmond, Indiana, USA, has called on the Dean of International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Y. A. Duah on June 20, 2023. The team included Dr. Karim Sagna, Professor of French and Francophone Studies, Corinne Deibel, Ph.D., Director Registrar and Professor of Chemistry, Karla Fribley, Librarian, Womai Song, Assistant Professor of AAAS, Onyiniye Ihezukwu, Visiting Professor of English, Jennifer Seely, Professor of Political Science, Kari Kalve, Professor of English and Mark Van Buskirk, Professor of Art.

Their visit is focused on an exploratory mission on higher education as well as possible avenues of interactive collaborations with KNUST and insight into students’ lifestyles.

On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and Management of the University, Prof. Duah welcomed them to KNUST. He gave a brief overview of KNUST and its Collegiate System. He indicated that KNUST has been ranked the best in the world for SDG 4, Quality Education by the Times Higher Education for 2023. He added that the International Programmes Office is currently facilitating two visits from the University of Nottingham, UK and the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Michigan State University, USA.

Prof. Duah invited the team to the Professorial Inaugural Lecture to be delivered by Professor Michael Kwasi Poku-Boansi, Deputy Director, School of Graduate Studies, KNUST on the topic “Transport Poverty in Africa: Planning for our Mobility Futures in an Era of Sustainability” on June 20, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. at the Great Hall.

Present at the meeting were Dr. Michael Nii Addy and Dr. (Mrs.) Anita O. Adade-Boateng, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer respectively from the Department of Construction Technology and Management, Prof. Benjamin Asinyo from the Department of Industrial Art, Dr. Juliana A. Abane, Senior Lecturer, Department of History and Political Science, Mr. Alhassan Yakubu, Assistant Lecturer, Department of English and Ms. Evelyn Safowaa, Senior Administrative Assistant of the International Programmes Office.
