A team of three comprising of Sr. Felisa Liou, Associate Professor in Brand and Fashion Management; Po-Ling Wu, Assistant Professor and Director of Fashion Design Section of the Department of Fashion and Textiles and Amber Chih-Meng Li, a graduate student from the Department of Fashion and Textiles from Fu Shen Catholic University, Taiwan paid a visit to the College of Art and Built Environment, KNUST on July 5, 2023.
The purpose of their visit was to explore the establishment of collaborations between the two institutions, focusing on the College of Art and Built Environment and College of Fashion and Textiles in Fu Shen Catholic University. Specifically, the focus would be on Fashion and Textile Design of the Department of Industrial Art.
The team paid a courtesy call on the Provost of College of Art and Built Environment, Professor John Tia Bugri at the Provost’s office. At the meeting was Prof. Samuel Amos-Abanyie, Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment, Ms. Josephine Djampim, College Registrar, Prof. Daniel Duah, Dean of the International Programmes Office and Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar at the International Programmes Office.
Prof. Bugri welcomed the team and was excited about opportunities for the Industrial Art Department to partner with their Taiwanese counterparts.
Later the team called on the Vice-Dean of Faculty of Art and Head of Department of Industrial Art, Professor Ebenezer Kofi Howard at his office and then had a tour of the facilities at the two sites of the Department. They expressed great satisfaction and impressed by the quality of the products of the students and unique design capabilities.
