International Programmes Office Holds Get-Together Dinner for Exchange Students

The International Programmes Office (IPO) held a get-together dinner for exchange students at Sankies Restaurant, KNUST on August 25, 2023.

The occasion afforded the opportunity for staff to interact with exchange students from various institutions including: Riah Wellington and Georgi Kostakev from University of Westminster, UK; Kayla Halie and Paige Evans from University of Chicago, USA; Gianluca Floris from University of Sassari, Italy; Yannick Hornnich from Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany; Leon Boateng from Bielefeld University, Germany; and Candia Norman, a Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholar.

The International exchange students shared their experiences so far at KNUST and were full of admiration for the beautiful campus and people, welcoming country, food and the many friends they have made. It turned out that fried plantain, mashed yam/plantain (etor) and waakye were their favorite Ghanaian dishes.

With regards to academics, the students stated that they had a great experience with well organised and engaging lectures. They acknowledged the fact that KNUST was an open community where they made new friends and colleagues to help them in their studies and social activities.

On behalf of the Vice Chancellor and management, Prof. Daniel Y.A. Duah, Dean of IPO, congratulated them on achieving such a major milestone. He was delighted at the satisfaction of their stay in KNUST and indicated that they are now ambassadors of KNUST and that the university would always be glad to welcome them back. He wished then the very best in all their endeavors.
