KNUST’s CARISCA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kühne Foundation through Learn Logistics to enhance logistics education and research in Africa

On Tuesday May 6, 2025, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), on behalf of its Centre for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain Africa (CARISCA), has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Learn Logistics, a subsidiary of the Kühne Foundation based in Switzerland. The signing ceremony took place at the Council Chamber on the KNUST campus and marks a major step toward enhancing logistics education and research across Africa.

The delegation from Learn Logistics, led by Dr. Andre Kreie, Director of Global Logistics Education at the Kühne Foundation, was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson. In her remarks, Professor Dickson reaffirmed KNUST’s dedication to cultivating strategic, long-term partnerships that are grounded in mutual benefit and community impact. She also expressed KNUST’s readiness to support and serve as a backbone to other African institutions that may enter similar collaborations with Learn Logistics. She thanked the Kühne Foundation for their support.

Professor Nathaniel Boso, Director of CARISCA praised the commitment of the Kühne Foundation to the success of the partnership and emphasized its alignment with the University’s vision for global academic collaboration.

The partnership is expected to create new opportunities for capacity building, research, and knowledge sharing within the logistics and supply chain space in Africa.

The event was graced by other members of university management, leadership from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, staff from CARISCA, representatives from the International Programmes Office, and the University Relations Office.
