KNUST architecture students shared mobility experiences from the Frankfurt Summer School with the Dean of the International Programmes Office.

On Tuesday August 12, 2025, a group of students from the Department of Architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) paid a visit to Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah, the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO) to share their experiences from a recent 2 week summer school programme in Frankfurt, Germany.

The students included Agnes Aba Nyanyuwa (BSc Architecture), Lois Gyanfosua Akuffo Addo (M. Architecture), Eyram Kokui Tamakloe (BSc Architecture), Jacob Faal Kofi Nakpan Nyong (BSc Architecture), and Kwadwo Acheampong Kwaning-Agyarko (BSc Architecture).

During the meeting, Miss Lois Gyanfosua Akuffo Addo described their arrival in Frankfurt - the crisp air, the hum of trams, and the excitement of exploring a new environment. Mr. Nyong reflected on the striking contrast between Frankfurt’s modern towers and preserved historical buildings, deepening his appreciation for architectural design. Miss Nyanyuwa added a humorous account of their first day of class, when an unplanned detour left them slightly lost on their way to campus.

Miss Tamakloe expressed admiration for Frankfurt’s clean, punctual, and efficient transport system, which quickly became essential for navigating the city. Mr. Kwaning-Agyarko concluded with a warm reflection on the friendships they formed with students from across the globe, enriching their cultural understanding. They all agreed it had been a fruitful summer school

Professor Daniel Duah, warmly welcomed the students back home on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, and commended them for representing KNUST with dignity, enthusiasm, and pride. He lauded their role as ambassadors of the university beyond Ghana’s borders and encouraged them to continue sharing the knowledge and experiences gained during their stay abroad.

Also present at the meeting were Ms. Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer Mr. Karikari Gyimah Ankoana, Inbound and Outbound Exchange Officer; and Mr. Attah Nyame Essampong, Visibility and Communications Officer, all from the IPO.
