KNUST signed a memorandum of understanding with Wynca Sunshine Agriculture Company Ghana Limited

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wynca Sunshine Agriculture Company Ghana Limited. The signing ceremony was held on the premises of Wynca at Ejisu on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Following a welcome address by the host, Mr. Shen Miao, Mr. Ye Fei, General Manager of WYNCA, highlighted the company’s contributions to Ghana’s agricultural sector since 2008. He noted that the company is not only a major producer of agro-products locally but also provides training to farmers on the environmentally friendly use of these products. “We believe a company’s true value lies not only in economic achievement, but in its contribution to society,” he emphasized.

Representing the Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), Dr. Eli Gaveh expressed appreciation to WYNCA for the long-standing relationship with the College and welcomed the opportunity to formalize it. He reiterated the premium KNUST places on industrial partnerships and underscored the mutual benefits the agreement would bring to both parties and the African continent at large. “We believe this will go a long way to advance the mission of the University, and we look forward to doing this together,” he remarked.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Wu Jianhua, President of Transfar Group, commended WYNCA for its sustained investment in agriculture in Ghana over the past 16 years. He also acknowledged KNUST’s reputation as a leading research university in Africa, describing it as a worthy partner. “We need all the talent to make Africa great together,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony were Professor Su Zibo, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at KNUST; Miss Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer at the International Programmes Office (IPO); as well as staff from the Confucius Institute, CANR, and IPO.
